The Argentinean rider made his debut with the same team in 2021 and returns for the 2022 Argentinean Round

A second Argentinean rider will race on the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for the tenth round of the 2022 season as Marco Solorza returns to the Championship for the Motul Argentinean Round. Solorza will once again compete for TPR Team Pedercini Racing, as he did last year, at the Circuito San Juan Villicum as WorldSBK starts a run of three flyaway races with Solorza getting a second home round in two years.

35-year-old Solorza made his WorldSBK debut at the same round last year with TPR Team Pedercini as he took a best result of 18th in Race 1. Solorza also made a one-off appearance in STK1000 back in 2012, also on Kawasaki machinery, and finished just outside the points. Solorza brings plenty of experience to the Pedercini Kawasaki squad including some CEV Superbike experience, where he finished in the top-nine in the eight races he took part in between 2015 and 2016. His best result in CEV Superbike was fifth, which he took on three occasions.

Discussing his return to the world stage, Solorza said: “I am very happy to be able to race again in the World Superbike championship in Argentina. I am incredibly grateful to Lucio for once again giving me this amazing opportunity. Last year I felt extremely comfortable with the team, and I know that this year I will do better. I am looking forward to the weekend and to re-uniting with the bike and all the team and with the fans. I will do my best as always and hope to improve on what we achieved together last year. See you in San Juan!”

Team Principal Lucio Pedercini added: “I am happy that we are able to once again reach an agreement to bring Marco Solorza back into our family and to the World Superbike paddock for the Argentinean round of the Championship. We worked well together last year and have become quite good friends. For sure, it will not be so easy as the level this year is very high, but we are confident that together we can make three solid races in San Juan. We are also happy to bring a second rider from Argentina onto the grid this year – something the fans I am sure will appreciate and enjoy.”
